In this work entitled the Democratic Trajectory of Mozambique (1994 - 2014): Presidentialism and decentralization- solution or problem for democratization process? We want to discuss the mozambican democracy, analyzing its trajectory since the political transition which started in the 90's. Mozambique has since 1994 realized multiparty elections within the time limit and spite of some weaknesses cited, the elections have been accepted by the international community. Despite of the realization of elections and the regular functioning of the elected institutions, the country is not yet considered as totally democratic. This work tries to understand the causes of these weaknesses or incomplete democratization. The present dissertation considers two main causes of the current state of democratization in the country: Presidentialism with a poor balance of power and a weak decentralization for the geographic reality and development as inhibiting a crucial inclusion of opposition political parties in governing and defining public politics.
