Abstract

This work aimed to analyze the ways in which tacit knowledge transfers is promoted among IT workers within an organization. To answer this research question, the concept of tacit knowledge, initially popularized by Polanyi (1966), was analyzed, as well as other approaches. Afterwards, it tried to understand, taking into account the literature, how tacit knowledge can be transferred by itself and specifically among IT workers, which present some challenges. This work followed the protocol of a systematic literature review and 14 articles were analyzed, selected taking into account the defined inclusion/exclusion criterias. The results of the analysis allowed us to conclude that the cultural context, organizational culture and characteristics of employees have a great impact on the transfer of tacit knowledge among IT workers. Cultural contexts and organizational cultures that promote teamwork, trust and mutual help are effective in sharing knowledge among IT workers. In addition, IT workers' personal characteristics such as awareness, commitment and introversion are personality traits that promote the sharing of tacit knowledge.
