This present dissertation best describes the research we have done on how the companiesof the Municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso, are facing the so-called Digital Transformation.We study Companies 4.0, companies in a digital world where transactions are mostly doneon the Internet, from supplier relationships to customer relationships, promotion, marketing,etc.In order to complete the study, and in addition to a careful review of the literature, weused four specific instruments:- a survey for the presence of companies on the Internet, which we did manually, andusing data provided by the Municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso;- a questionnaire to a significant number of inhabitants of Póvoa de Lanhoso andneighboring municipalities, in order to understand their perception;- a questionnaire to a group of companies in the municipality, to understand the impactfrom the entrepreneurs point of view;- a semi-structured interview with a municipal officer responsible for supportingcompanies in the municipality, to better comprehend how these transformations arebeing perceived by themselves, and how the support provided can impact thecompany's development.Between the beginning of this study and its conclusion, the CoVid-19 outbreak occurred,which came to negatively affect the ease of contacting companies, which aremore occupied with the negative effects of the pandemic, but on the other hand, it allowedus to assess the relevance of digital solutions for the very prevalence of many of thecompanies.The study ends with a chapter of suggestions and future work.
