This report, as part of the Master's Degree in Music Teaching, at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Porto, aims to highlight the lessons learned during Professional Practice (PP), in the areas of specialization Analysis and Techniques of Composition and History of Culture and Arts, as well as all the research related to the implementation and evaluation of the Pedagogical Intervention Project (PIP) called “The use of digital games as a teaching and learning strategy in the subject of History of Culture and Arts – Music”. The professional practice was carried out in the academic year 2020/21, at the Academy of Music of Arouca (AMA), with Professor Luísa Orvalho as scientific advisor and Jacinta Borges, teacher of History of Culture and Arts at AMA, where the PIP was also implemented. The lack of motivation to study the theoretical disciplines of Music was the reason that motivated the choice of this issue for the implementation of the intervention project and, in order to deal with this same reality, an original digital tool called Wall of Fame was created. With this PIP, we tried to verify if the students who used the Wall of Fame digital tool started to dedicate more time to the study of music, considering that tool a learning facilitator, if they managed to achieve more easily and with more quality the essential learning of the subject History of Culture and Arts and if this motivation reflected in their performance and school results. Another purpose of this PIP was to sensitize the Pedagogical and Administrative Departments to AMA's digital transition and the importance of using digital tools in a school and in pedagogical and study support context. The participants in this investigation were 22 high school students (6th, 7th and 8th grades), aged between 15 and 18 years old, who attend the subject of History of Culture and Arts, on a supplementary basis, in AMA. The research strategy consisted of conceptualizing the study design to assess the effectiveness of two alternative pedagogical strategies, based on two groups of students, the experimental group with the introduction of digital resources in pedagogical practice, suggesting a digital platform as an auxiliary study tool and in gathering feedback from all participants on the strategies adopted, and a control group. The techniques selected for data collection and production were: questionnaire surveys, semi-structured interviews, focus group, evaluation records, direct and participant observation, document research, observation grids and field notes recorded in the researcher's logbook. As techniques for analyzing and interpreting the quantitative and qualitative data collected in the investigation, statistical analysis and content analysis were privileged. v The results obtained revealed that the digital resources in the classroom context contribute to a greater students involvement and that the Wall of Fame digital tool has assumed itself as an excellent study aid in the service of self-regulation of learning.
