In recent years, several studies have been addressing the complex game, which in sub-Saharan Africa relates school drop-out in women and rites of passage between childhood and adulthood. Scientific research explores these elements by integrating the topic of early pregnancy / maternity often into the framework of reading. However, the link between these aspects is not completely clear and more information is needed to follow these situations. As far as we know there is no work done in Angola that explores attitudes about schooling and school dropout and about the experience of initiation rites (Efundula) in young women whose pregnancy / maternity happened when they were less than 18 years old, who passed through Efundula And who dropped out of school. The study presented here seeks to be a first step in deepening knowledge in this area, giving voice to those involved as "key informants". In this way, it is specifically sought to explore their attitudes (cognitions, emotions and behaviors) in relation to Effundula, to school life and to abandoning it. The group of participants consists of 10 mothers, aged between 16 and 18, with children, who lived in Efundula and did not attend school. As for Efundula, part of the participants stated that it was not their decision to participate, but understood their role as "tradition". His school experience is described positively, valuing different aspects. Dropout is often directly related to pregnancy / maternity, but not to Efundula. This is directly related to pregnancy and maternity. Most participants report that they want to go back to school. These data point to the need to know more about this phenomenon of abandonment in the female, in order to be able to intervene / prevent reducing their individual and social weight.
