Privacy is one of the most important issues that it is currently faced, in the digital age, where much of people’s lives are on their mobile phones, it is of great relevance to study their use and their behaviours. There are numerous mobile apps available on the market to be immediately installed on smartphones, and all of them collect data from their users, much of these data are sensitive and private. Location is one type of private information that is commonly shared with technology companies. The usage growth of mobile transport apps makes the relevance of studies like this to increase. This research aimed to better understand the behaviours of LBS app’s consumers, regarding the willingness to share personal information. For this investigation a questionnaire was conducted, which had 250 smartphone users’ participants. With the gathered data, it was studied the impact of gender, age and risk tolerance. Through the methods used it was concluded that the willingness to share is greatly influenced by the age and risk tolerance of consumers. Other aspects such as the level of trust and fear in the security of the personal data, stored by technology companies, is impacted by gender, age and risk aversion. Furthermore, it was possible to know the reasons that justify consumers’ beliefs and insecurities, as well as some aspects of this environment that would increase the willingness to share, reassuring privacy breaches fears.
