Population aging is now a worldwide phenomenon observed and which began in developed countries still in the early twentieth century. Among the many concerns related to the challenge of providing adequate quality of life for this population, there is the provision of environments best suited to the real needs of the elderly. When thinking about designing environments for seniors, this approach has become particularly relevant in view of the aging process modifies deeply the relationship of the individual with his environment. These new relationships imply that hardly needs are addressed by the built environment of cities, which are almost always designed keeping in mind the young user. Promote the accessibility of buildings and public spaces with gains functionality, is ensuring better quality of life for all citizens. By ensuring autonomy, tip up prejudices and to promote inclusive practices for everyone, especially for people with disabilities and mobility impairments. The city and its spaces need not be adverse, it is inevitable to happen. (Portugal, quoted in Guide: Accessibility and mobility for all s.d). When designing spaces, professionals in the field of architecture should think in terms of accessibility and were concerned with the specifics of each person. So, the project was carried out against this problem, and is integrated in demanding media and infrastructures themselves directly targeted to the theme of accessibility and aging.
