Abstract

This study aims to define the points effective in practice this modality, factors to promote social inclusion and promotion of habits of a desirable mental health for people who have cerebral palsy and practitioners of this sport, Boccia. We assume that through physical activities and recreational events, is revealed in the daily life of these people, their characteristics development, development that favorable factors of social inclusion and integration through adapted sports, achieving effective benefits in the field mental health, enablers of a real and effective integration into society. Providing a context in which a person can acquire and develop skills within their motor and cognitive reality, leaving his body to face as a repository of frustrations. This study resulted in a paper having the characteristics of qualitative research and teaching, with particular regard to the motor and cognitive development through body experiences. As a result, we developed a work with people with cerebral palsy, elite athletes sports Club: Sporting Clube de Braga, with an age range between: 30 to 40 years, framed within the functional profile required for the practice game Boccia adapted. Therefore, we use as a means for development work, physical activities, games and sporting activities adapted and tailored to specific classes of athletes, promoting situations of conquest and achievement, without concealment of results, viewing disability as a condition characteristic and not as an obstacle to the conditions for a full life. To this end, we resort to various literature sources with evidence from the characteristics of people with cerebral palsy, motor development and characteristics of non-disabled people. The main objective of this work lies in the development process. Being more important than the final result. The work lasts. Thus we see how it should be working with the disabled. We understand as less relevant statistical results. Matter how quality of life and give the individual gave himself.
