Adaptação às alterações climáticas

: o caso do Porto

Abstract

This dissertation aims to answer the following research questions: Which adaptation strategy to climate change does the Porto municipality have? Regarding the strategy referred, how does the Porto municipality compare itself to other European cities which are leaders in this matter? The method used to answer these research questions is the case study with an exploratory nature. Results show that Porto has an adaptation strategy to climate change and it is well positioned when compared to other European cities leaders in this matter. In 2016, the municipality of Porto has developed its own strategy, that latter, in 2018, served as a basis for Porto Metropolitan Area’s Adaptation to Climate Change Plan. However, regarding the adaptation measures, the city is still far from the assumed goals for 2030.
