The pediatric hospital context is a professional environment with the potential togenerate adaptation difficulties, namely because it involves contact with human suffering. The main objective of this study was to know the adaptation of professionals who work as Hospital Clowns in a pediatric context. Twenty-three professionals participated in the investigation (twelve women and eleven-man, M = 40.96; SD = 6.03) who work as Clown Doctors in Operação Nariz Vermelho in the country’s north and center region. The study design was a mixed explanatory sequential type. The data collection instruments include a Sociodemographic, Professional and Clinical Questionnaire, Stress Appraisal Measure, Humor Styles Questionnaire, Professional Quality of Life Scale (ProQOL-5), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and a Semi-structured interview. The results showed that the work environment is perceived as mildly to moderately threatening, with opportunities for personal and professional growth, moderate to high levels of compassion satisfaction, moderate to low levels of secondary traumatic stress and predominantly normal or normal levels of anxiety and depression. light. These data suggest a good adaptation of CDs to the pediatric hospital context, which can be justified by the pride they feel in taking the art of the clown to the hospital environment and by the satisfaction in performing a job with professionalism, in a stable and credible institution. Despite these positive adaptation indicators, it is important to consider the factors at different levels that DCs identify as potential challenges/threats to their mental health.
