Abstract

This research is intended to provide the argumentative support for the textual adaptation project Adaptation for a Short Film Script from The Short Story entitled „The Man Who Planted Birds‟, which is based On Angolan Oral Tradition, and consists of two central parts. Part I is dedicated to the literature review, discussing the role of memory in articulating the oral legacy, point #1. This section is subdivided into three subsections, the first focusing on the representative features of the oral tradition in Angolan literature, and the second on memories of fiction on Angola's Public Television, from the standpoint of audiovisual and oral tradition. The third and final sub-section explores the factors affecting the script as an instrument of language adaptation. Part II focuses on the empirical side of the project, starting from a description of the parameters of the research methodology adopted, including brief notes on the rewriting process by the author of the short story and the script.
