This report summarizes the internship experience at Glintt, a leading health information technology company, from March to June 2023, focusing on the final validation phase of the WoW project, led by the company. WoW is an innovative wireless remote health monitoring device aimed at resolving the limited mobility of users in hospital and paving the way for better home care, revolutionizing digital health. The approach involved the creation of biomonitoring patches, which capture the body's physiological response, measuring patient's vital signs and movements. These wearables take advantage of Bluetooth technology to enable wireless communication and real-time data transmission. To this end, an intelligent IoT unit was implemented in the patients' beds to collect and transmit data. The data collected was integrated using Globalcare hospital software, following the FHIR standard to guarantee interoperability with other information systems. The clinical trials carried out and the feedback from volunteers and health professionals was crucial in perfecting the various components to obtain a functional final solution. Multidisciplinary collaboration between engineers and healthcare professionals was essential to the project's success, so this short stay highlighted the importance of communication and teamwork in solving problems and finding innovative solutions. The results obtained demonstrated the transformative potential of this new system, enabling simple and reliable real-time patient monitoring and increasing user convenience compared to conventional systems. In short, this internship experience was enriching and provided the opportunity to contribute to an innovative solution for optimizing healthcare. Despite the challenges involved, the focus of the team on continuous improvement has allowed the WoW concept to become tangible and viable, and it probably has a promising future in replacing traditional devices.
