Abstract

This MA project is going to address the difficulties of entering the fashion industry experienced by young Portuguese fashion designers by developing an online space for with the purpose of generating brand awareness and consumers’ loyalty for these young adults’ brands. The platform is intended to be a space for young fashion designers to showcase their talent and work, a directory for companies to search for new talent and an online store for those who want to purchase the fashionable pieces designed by its creatives. This research and project will adopt a qualitative methodology and is going to be conducted by the analysis of two focus group sessions done to young aspiring fashion designers and online shoppers. In both focus group sessions, the project thought to be developed will be presented to the participants and, it will be a moment to assess/understand if the concept would is indeed advantageous and an idea young fashion designers would be receptive to and consider for their careers.
