Abstract

The liturgical furniture present in the presbyterate is full of symbolism, meanings, history and functions, furniture that is indispensable for Christian worship. To better understand these three places, we resorted to this comparative study that seeks to present the furniture of the cathedral of Lamego by comparing it with the cathedrals of Notre-Dame de Paris, the cathedral of Parma and the cathedral of San Lorenzo in Alba. In the first chapter we tried to present the altar and its importance for the liturgy, going through the liturgical changes from the reform of the Second Vatican Council, as well as to understand what the liturgy consists of, the meaning of the cathedral, its importance and the need to readjust its celebratory space. This is followed by the renovations of each cathedral, including its respective altar. In the second chapter studying the ambo, and its importance for the liturgy as well as the importance of the Word of God. The following is the ambo of each cathedral already listed. The third chapter explains the chair and its importance for the liturgy, passing through the importance of art in the liturgy. Finally, the chair of each cathedral already evoked.
