In schizophrenia, the ability to infer adaptively the thoughts and feelings of others (i.e. social cognition) is strongly associated with the social functioning. The Social Cognition and Interaction Training (SCIT), is a cognitive behavioral intervention program that aims to improve social cognition, with the aim of promoting the psychosocial functioning in people suffering from schizophrenia. This multiple case study is part of the research project that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the portuguese version of SCIT, and focus on the analysis of its effectiveness in two participants at the level of theory of mind, attributional style and function social. The results suggest improvements in all domains assessed when combined quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis resulting from the observation of the sessions. Limitations of this study are discussed and presented suggestions for future research, considering the potencial role of SCIT in the recovery process of people suffering from schizophrenia.
