Kaplan and Norton (2008) considered necessary a management model that integrates the different strategic and operational tools and simultaneously guarantee the alignment between strategy and operations within an organization. In this sense, the authors presented the Execution Premium model, a model that links strategic execution, strategic planning and operational excellence. This report had the ultimate goal to understand whether the design is suitable to ensure alignment of the Direction of Automation and Telecontrol, a technical support Direction, inserted in EDP Distribution Company, with the EDP D’s strategy. To answer the research question it was adopted the case study method, since this study is prepared under a traineeship. In addition to direct observation, a review of literature shrouded theme was held, interviews were conducted and documents collected to enable the answer to the question. The analysis revealed that the Direction is already aligned with EDP D’s strategy. However, the information that confirms this alignment is scattered or is not properly documented. Thus this report supports the implementation of the Execution Premium model as a system that will integrate all the strategic and operational tools in the Direction and will also ensure the alignment of employees with both EDP D’s strategy and the Direction strategy.
