Abstract

The dissertation presents, in a succinct way, the significance of archaeology as na activity that rescues memory in time. After getting its cultural material, archaeology – as a field of scientific research – places people in space and time. Preventive archaeology is anchored in mechanisms to protect the archaeological heritage. Grounded in good practices and effective policies, this field of practice prevents the risk that archaeology heritage vanishes.
