Abstract

The Hyperactivity / Attention Deficit is a disorder that can affect children and adolescents or continue into adulthood. This condition presents as a consequence, the difficulty sustaining attention in task or behavior difficulties in social interaction, resulting in the lowest academic performance of a student. To do this, teachers are considered important to the process of adaptation and academic success of students actors. Therefore this study aims to explore the relationship between teachers' beliefs about and practices exercised hyperactivity in the classroom. To conduct the study used a quantitative methodology with the use of questionnaires for teachers who have had, or not, experience with students with hyperactivity. As a result of the study, we noticed that teachers who have more knowledge about Hyperactivity Disorder and Attention Deficit most have adjusted practices in class room to capture the attention of students and contribute to academic performance. It appears that the lack of information for teachers about ADHD is a component that can hinder teachers ' strategies in managing the classroom when a student with hyperactivity in the group , so a teacher who have little knowledge on the subject to try broaden your knowledge in the area contributed to the performance of their students .
