This work has as purpose to draw our professional path and is based on the assumption that the teaching practice in itself contains a broad set of actions and challenges that contribute to the reflection and analysis of the difficulties and obstacles encountered, as well as the successes achieved. Thus, we make a brief approach to special education, its evolution over time and reflect on some concepts inherent to it. The role of the teacher will secede while educational agent, we have sketched your professional profile and emphasize the importance of training to better respond to the challenges of children education with special educational needs. Based on our Curriculum Vitae we describe our entire professional path, giving special emphasis to the last seven years in which we have played roles teachers in the area of special education. We focus on the case of a deaf student deep with cochlear implant, which frequents the 7th year of schooling, because it is a truly meaningful experience. We present a theoretical approach to the problem of deafness, their rehabilitation techniques and we focus about the implications of this for the linguistic development of the child, as well as the acquisition and increment of reading and writing. We present an intervention plan to promote the most deficient areas of the deaf student and expose some working guidelines that constitute substantial facilitators in their learning.
