Abstract
This master’s dissertation has the aim of providing an overview of the ordinances on labor conditions, as well as its relationship with the Portuguese collective bargaining system. To that end, the most important legal provisions will be discussed and the requirements for the validity of such an ordinance will be addressed. Moreover, throughout our analysis, the conformity of the ordinances with the Portuguese Constitution will be dealt with, as the grounds for possible invalidities or unconstitutionalities are at the center of our discussion. Our reasoning will be mainly based on a balancing exercise as between the constitutional values at stake.| Date of Award | 20 Feb 2026 |
