Abstract

Special education in Portugal is framed by a legislative frame quite extensively. Over the years moved the mentalities and was sure modifying attitudes towards people with disabilities. Nowadays debate very inclusive school. Pupils with special educational needs (SEN) should be included in regular classes and education should focus on the particularities of each student. They have the right to receive appropriate support and the school should meet their needs with a view to giving them physical, intellectual and social conditions. In all areas of current society, education and Special Education in particular, information technologies are applied to improve the quality of life and, in this context, improve the teaching and learning processes. This study focuses on the perception of special education teachers, School groups in the District of Viseu, in view of the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) in pedagogical practice with students with NEE. Come check out what are the special education teachers ' attitudes vis-à-vis ICT and its opinion on the adoption of the same in its pedagogical practice. During the planning of the course of this investigation, we opted for methodology case study by think the most appropriate and for allowing us to study, in depth, our problem in a short time. We draw up a questionnaire survey in order to collect the necessary information to clarify the objectives of the study. The results were the target of treatment and after its analysis were taken the respective conclusions, which include positive attitudes of most teachers face the use of ICT in their teaching practice, the frequent use of ICT for a differentiated intervention with students with NEE, the knowledge that they have for repositories with educational material and computer applications and the favourable opinion in respect of ICT in the teaching-learning process of students with SEN.
