Abstract

This report is part of the UC: Internship and Final Report integrated into the Specialization Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of People in Critical Situations, and mirrors my training path to obtain the Specialist Title. In the first part, I present the RSL developed in relation to the theme: Nurses' Experiences in the face of Therapeutic Obstination, which allowed the acquisition of specialized skills in the area of research, required for differentiated knowledge and based on scientific evidence. Throughout this secondary study, I justified the relevance of the choice of theme, as well as the results obtained through a mapping of available studies. In the course of this work, I seek to describe in an objective, critical way and from an analytical perspective, the activities carried out in the contexts of care experienced, namely in an Intensive Medicine Service and a Home Hospitalization Unit, as well as the main learning and experiences, and how all my clinical experiences led to the acquisition of the common and specific skills required of the Specialist Nurse. It is important to analyze all the care experiences that emerged throughout my clinical practice in the light of a Nursing Theory, having chosen Merle Mishel's Theory of Uncertainty to support this same practice, justifying the reason for my interventions and enabling new perspectives of nursing care, in order to promote the quality of life of the patient and family.
