The Heroic Imagination Project aims to redefine the concept of “daily heroism” and to empower common individuals with knowledge about their behavior and with strategies that will allow them to enact proactively and intervene in an efficient way in challenging situations, in order to transform negative situations and to create positive change. In order to contribute to the implementation of HIP in Portugal, the present study had as its main goal to caracterize a sample of Portuguese youngsters from high school concerning their altruistic and pro-social attitudes and behaviors. To the evaluation of the altruistic and pro-social attitudes and behaviors two scales that were previously validated and adapted to the Portuguese high school youngsters were used, namely, the Escala de Autorrelato de Altruísmo and Medida de Tendências Prossociais (Barbosa, Veríssimo, Gabor, Silva & Violas, 2016). The results reveal differences in students involvement in altruistic and pro-social attitudes and behaviors, taking into account gender, grade, and attended course.
