Atuação das forças políciais junto de crianças e jovens da comunidade cigana

Abstract

The literature shows that the Roma community is associated with crime. However, other scientific studies reveal a setback because claim that this association is not linear (Santos, 2013). Assuming that the Roma community is related to the crime, will address relevant police actions in particular preventive action and criminal action (Felizardo, 2012). In order to understand the attitudes and representations of the police towards children and young people from the Roma community in order to evaluate possible legal discriminatory practices in the police action with this population, so the police conducted 14 interviews of the GNR of the North region the country by going to a qualitative approach. The main results suggest that there is specific in terms of police action along these children. It is also verified that the relationship of the police face to Roma children is compromised due to their social representations.
