This study evaluates the provision of Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) at the Profª Raquel Castro e Silva Miranda Youth and Adult Education Centre (CEJA) in Ceará, Brazil. The qualitative research analyzes the pedagogical, structural, family and financial challenges faced in guaranteeing quality inclusive education. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with parents, managers and teachers, as well as non-participant observations. The results highlight advances, such as pedagogical flexibility and valuing diversity, but also point to shortcomings, such as a lack of physical accessibility, insufficient teacher training and a shortage of support professionals. The study concludes that, although CEJA demonstrates a commitment to inclusion, investments in infrastructure, teacher training and more robust public policies are needed to consolidate truly inclusive education.
