: o caso do Porto de Aveiro

Abstract

This process of research focused on the risk to the Aveiro Port, if one of the companies in the value chain log in insolvency. For this purpose, was used a sample of four key companies from the point of view of their financial impact on the business network. In that way, the following question was proposed: "What is the risk to the Aveiro Port if one of the key companies entering insolvency." In order to answer this crucial question, the option was to put the following sub-questions: a) If one of the companies entering insolvency risk (failure), what is its implication on the network? b) What is the role of financial information for the Aveiro Port? c) Should the Aveiro Port monitoring the financial risk of the companies involved? This Final Master Project focuses on a critical approach on qualitative and quantitative aspects. This research will cover the main areas of knowledge, the concept of network and risk, diagnosis and measurement of the risk, as well as analysis of the financial impact in the event of insolvency and also the importance of the stakeholders in the supply of logistics network of Aveiro Port with the main focus for companies in the value chain The developed study as a prime objective the construction of an evaluation model for a targeted sample of companies in the Aveiro Port risks highlighting as previously stated those who pose a greater importance to the organization. Thus, the methodology took into account the literature review about the management of risk and business risk, as well as analysis of financial indicators for the calculation of risk. A survey of financial data was held in Port of Aveiro on the importance of a sample of four of the main companies that operate in this organization and an integral part of it. At the end of this study will produce a method of management control in order to monitor risk. This study fills the theme of risk in business networks and some financial management strategies to ensure a lower risk of network failure.
