Given the increasingly competitive scenario of the entrepreneurial world, organizations are required to implement changes that will allow them to remain in the market. Such changes demand behavioural transformations, as well as of the relationships, which require individual adjustments that usually cause insecurity and stress in the subjects involved (Camara, Guerra, & Rodrigues, 2010). The present study was aimed at approaching the representations that the workers of the Hospital Center of the Northeast [HCNE] have of the organizational change especially as to the impact on health and well-being and also understand how workers analyze the design, implementation and management of the organizational change. For that purpose we focused on the quantitative methodology, essentially descriptive, with the completion of a questionnaire survey, using some items from the instrument by Torres-Oliveira (2005). The data processing, conducted by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences [SPSS], allowed to analyze the representations of the workers regarding new working conditions, change of schedule, participation in the change and indication of well-being. The sample included 169 employees spread over seven professional groups: Medical Staff, Health Technician, Senior Technician, Nursing Staff, Technical Staff of Diagnosis and Therapy, Technical Assistant and Assistant Operating. The professional groups which have broadly shown greater satisfaction with the change were the Medical Staff and Assistant Operating. In turn, the Health Technician was the group that showed less optimistic. The results showed that the introduction of a technocentric strategy on management of change, ie the non-involvement of the workers in the process (Parente, 2006) leads to individual resistances as criticism and fear (Almeida, 2005; Rego & Cunha, 2004). Psychosocial risks led to an increased absenteeism, on the organizational level (Coelho, 2010); on the individual stage, the change has caused an increased standard of stress and a physical as well as psychological exhaustion
