Abstract

The detection of biomarkers in saliva, proteins that are associated withspecific phenotypes of pathologies, presents itself as an area of diagnosticintervention without much studies.Using the proteomic data / directed studies deposited in OralCard on oraland systemic diseases the primary goals of this study were::- To conduct a critical analysis of biomarkers already proposed;- To identify proteins that may prove to be potential new biomarkers. The organization of the proteins exclusively identified as being presentand / or altered in oral and systemic diseases according to the ontologies“immune system process” and “cell death” were submitted to the study of theirspecific biological functions in these ontologies, in order to make an analysis ofboth previously suggested biomarkers and biomarkers to be proposed. This study allowed to suggest proteins which contain regulation valuesin Whole Saliva and which are likely to become part of biomarker validation’sstudies, because they have functional meaning in specific pathologies andcontribute to a better characterization of the underlying molecular processes foreach pathology. This study also allowed the suggestion of more regulationstudies for the previously suggested biomarkers without regulation data.
