Abstract

Nowadays it is vital to understand that the growing level of globalization and technological revolution are intertwined with new ways and tools of management, that had become substantial key points to the current functionality of all types of organizations. This study took place alongside an internship on the company Flexdeal SIMFE S.A. facilitated by Universidade Católica Portuguesa. It aimed on developing and improving a risk and supervision model which, by itself, was lacking some outputs for the management optimization and decision-making process. Flexdeal SIMFE S.A. is a fund management investment company that promotes economy therefore, it needs a reliable system for managing and monitoring the performance of its subsidiaries in order to address the risks to which is exposed. With a feedback obtained from the stakeholders and a diagnosis of the practices involved at that time, an intervention model was developed in order to respond to their urgent needs. The main output of the Masters’ Final Work is a model proposal for monitoring and supervising the subsidiaries and their current performance. It also added value on assisting decision making and providing risk mitigation.
