Abstract

This curricular internship held at BAP Animation Studios main objective was to study the methodologies used in the Portuguese animation industry. During this internship, it was possible to witness and actively participate in an animation project in a professional context, more specifically in the film “Cão Sozinho”, directed by Marta Reis de Andrade. During the internship, tasks were carried out to assist the production of the short film “Cão Sozinho” and practical knowledge about the work processes in the field of animation were acquired. There was also the opportunity to learn new software tools, applicable in other contexts of audio-visual production, especially in animation. In addition to acquiring specific knowledge about the production of 2D animation, the internship allowed an integration in the working environment of a professional studio, providing the understanding of the various stages through which an animated film passes, as well as the experience of working within a team during the production phase. The objective of this report is to highlight the most relevant aspects of the work developed during the internship and the different stages in the production of the film “Cão Sozinho”, and how the tools previously acquired in an academic context stand out in a production in a professional context as well as the evolution felt after the end of the same.
