The main goal of this study is to characterize the developmental profile of infants born with very low birth weight and extremely low birth weight in the third year of life. Thus, the specific objectives are to explore the impact of certain biological risk factors (gestational age, birth weight, length of stay) the results obtained in the scale of development in the third year of life, and to explore the impact of certain factors environmental (frequency daycare) results on the scale of development in the third year of life. Thus, we proceeded to the application of the instrument Griffiths Mental Development Scales 0-2 years, covering ages from birth to 24 months and consists of five subscales them the eye and hand coordination, hearing and language, locomotion, execution and personal - social and your time management comprises approximately 45 minutes. In so concluding it was found that a longer hospital stay, a lower weight will be born and a lower gestational age do not influence the results of each child in Ruth Griffiths Developmental Scale. Moreover, an association was found between the frequency of day care and higher results in Scale Development Ruth Griffiths, demonstrating the importance of early stimulation in preterm infants
