In order to reach the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, corporations seek ways to diversify their social and environmental activities. Impact accelerators enable various collaboration modes for corporations and impact ventures, benefiting both sides. Corporations get access to sustainable innovation while impact ventures have the chance to use the resources of the corporation to scale their business. The aim of this thesis is to explore what these collaborations look like and what are the factors that lead to a successful partnership between a large corporation and an impact venture. Based on information obtained during interviews with managers of corporates and impact ventures, as well as with representatives of accelerator programs, we propose a framework and strategies for collaboration. The proposed framework contains the four dimensions align expectations, problem-solution fit, continuous adaptation and clear exit strategy which are based around the enabling process communication. The study highlights the need for clear communication throughout the collaboration, ensuring a successful partnership for all involved stakeholders.
