Abstract

The definition of school quality and the factors that contribute to it is crucial nowadays, with the concepts of quality, effectiveness and improvement being present in all sorts of talks on scholar education. And these concepts, always related to the goals and aims of the school, are, by large, common to private and public schools. But parents are more demanding when the school is private. They want higher quality, better effectiveness, continuous improvement. The cost of the school is an investment in their children’s education and future, which leads to higher quality standards and demands from the school. From what theory defines and identifies as school quality and effectiveness factors, and how parents think and act on these matters, this study will investigate the criteria parents use for choosing a private school and for evaluating it’s quality.
