Abstract

Employee motivation is a very important factor for an organization and therefore needs to be carefully considered. This needs to be explored considering the several existing management control systems. In this case, Group X, the group of 4 pharmacies that is being studied, intends to combat some internal process failures that are leaving employees unmotivated. To counter this trend, the BSC model was used. Through the integration in the organizational environment and the study of several articles it was possible to elaborate several solutions. The study focuses mainly on the management team, where there is a greater sense of injustice and lack of motivation regarding performance awards, but where there is an excellent relationship of friendship between employees. The strategy map was constructed to guide the company's growth and cost reduction objectives, which works if known by all members of the management team. This allows the employees to feel that they are the support for the correct functioning of the pharmacies and therefore the right arm of the CEO’s. The internal processes and the learning and growth perspectives of the BSC are further explored. It has been proven that it is possible to influence employee’s motivations through the implementation or improvement of small management control processes. These processes include, for example, more training and more intertwining with the daily employee’s tasks and the holding of unlinking interviews that allows to more easily uncover the weaknesses of the organization and try to change them.
