Introduction: Palliative Care is an active, coordinated, and global care and is undoubtedly a human right. Its main objective is to promote well-being, comfort and quality of life of patients and their family. Due to the evolution of the disease and the treatments performed, diet of palliative care patients is often very altered, so the role of the Dietitian in Palliative Care becomes important. Methodology: Determination by consensus, through the Delphi Process, a set of professional competences using national and international Dietitians with, at least, three years of experience in the area as a panel of experts. After the 61 competences’ identification, through a systematic literature review, these competences were grouped in three domains – core, clinical and ethical - and were submitted online to the expert panel for evaluation and in a second round for revaluation. Results: At the end of the study from 13 core, 30 clinical, and 18 ethical competences obtained by the systematic review of the literature, a very high or high consensus was obtained in 13 core, 27 clinical and 18 ethical competences. Discussion: The final set of competences is in line with what has been described in the literature, particularly from international frameworks. Conclusions: A set of competences was elaborated and this will allow to contribute to the improvement of the care practice of Dietitians that work or may work in the Palliative Care setting.
