The work presented corresponds to an investigation focused on the study and reflection on the Mediation Neighborhoods Initiative and Social Critics, including the District of Lagarteiro. Social entrepreneurship and social mediation are the central pillars of our action and the foundations of empirical research. Conceptually, this work fits into the theoretical domain of Social Pedagogy, and in this context, pursues the principles of Lifelong Learning and the logic of exploitation and human proximity. Data collected during the course of action-research are an attitude of formative assessment and held between September 2010 and October 2011. Period in which we assume the role of "mediator" and researcher of the measure 2.5. In this context, highlights the importance of the figure of "social mediator" and, as this work argues, quite specifically the figure of the teacher-mediator, as an agent of intervention and socio-communitarian development.
