Abstract

This internship report aims to present a digital platform model for the creative industries of Lisbon as part of the Lisbon City Council‘ strategic initiative to affirm the city as one of the most creative in Europe within the scope of the "Creative Economy" sector. The CML's motivation for the composition of the "Creative Economy" sector emerged from the presence of a significant number of institutions, individual companies and self-employed professionals working in business activities associated with the cultural and creative industries (CCI's) and an expressive amount of cultural and creative events perfomed on the city annually. However, in the same way, it was verified that the professionals and entities that directly or indirectly integrate the creative industries (CIs) and, by extension, the creative economy did not have a vision of the rich infrastructure available in the city, as well the knowledge; skills; and tools that could help them build relationships, partnerships, share experiences and equipment. Following this diagnosis, we created a model of a digital platform able to responding, not only to these detected needs, but also of bringing visibility to creative universe, promoting attraction of investments and talents to the city and thus contribute to the positioning of Lisbon as an international reference in the area of the "Creative Economy". Following the internship mentioned above, we finished the creation of the "Creative Lisbon" platform model. Its main functions are connecing the actors of the Lisbon’s creative ecosystem and to becoming a digital hub that generates visibility for creative agents, both nationally and internationally. With this platform conceived, the Lisbon‘s City Council emerges with a unifying role of the creative ecosystem of Lisbon, offering an innovative technological solution, in the sense that it is the first online platform in Lisbon to connect and internationalize CIs .
