The aim of this Master's final work is to present a case study about prevention management in the scope of the CARDAN ecosystem. The CARDAN ecosystem is composed by a group of companies operating in the automotive market segment whose main activity is both selling and providing after-sale maintenance and components for vehicles. The question that led to conduct the research presented in this document is: "Keeping in mind CARDAN's legal, organizational and cultural context, how to promote the prevention management in the OSH domain?". An analysis is conducted in the Occupational Safety and Health domain to gather the factors that have an influence in the prevention management and to assess the worker's relevance in this process. To accomplish this task, the current CARDAN's related processes are analyzed and suggestions are presented in order to foster sustainable improvements in the company's Safety and Health procedures to achieve positive results. The case study execution strategy is based in a primary prevention policy, i.e. to obtain prevention by planning through risk based assessment, reducing probable damage and it's impact, thereby promoting worker's safety and well-being. Executed throughout a qualitative methodic approach, the presented case study is developed using different methods such as participative observation, documentation analysis and interviews. Later an automated content analysis is performed, revealing trends and patterns in the interviews that help the identification of the practices and procedures in the OSH scope that are currently being applied on a daily basis. Finally, improvement suggestions derived from the gathered data and the studied literature are presented. It is concluded that improvement opportunities do exist, namely at the general organizational practices level, in the human resources area, and in the OSH stakeholders training, information and involvement. The aim of the implementation of these actions and organizational restructure is to promote improvements in the companies' safety culture.
