Abstract

The present report provides a diachronic look upon the professional pathway developed over two decades. From the professional experiences and livings along the various career stages, it stands out the collaborative work and the commitments shared locally and with the educative administration in the development of improvement processes, oriented towards the vision of the primary school under the concepts of access' and success' universality, quality and equity of learnings and results. The participation of the school organization in programs and pilot projects proposed by the educative administration is referred, namely the PEPT-2000 program, the Flexible Curriculum Management Project, the External Evaluation Pilot Project, and the Autonomy Contract for the development of the Cávado Sul School`s Educational Program. The implementation of these programs was based on the initiative of each school, based on a strategy that valued the context and organizational specificities, mobilizing the local educative actors to commit themselves to enhance the education public service. This study aims to report organizational enhancement processes with impact on the educative quality and school's results enhancement. It tries to point out the relation between the expanding autonomy, understood as the empowerment process of acquiring new competences necessary to define more suitable answers to the heterogeneity of the school population, the contractualization, used as a strategy management modality, and the combined self-evaluation and external evaluation of the educative organization, under the formative dimension of support to the organizational development, accounting for the responsibility for the results and the certification, which guarantee the quality of education.
