The present research studies the vulnerability of information systems in Cape Verde, as well as the perception that Cape Verdeans have about these weaknesses, which are not always easy to detect a first analysis since the vulnerabilities of a system can be derived from a simple printed document poorly preserved, through a computer attack by a hacker, even a natural disaster. For this study, we use the literature review in the area of security of information systems, identifying a common theoretical path followed in the perception of the subject under study, through the organization of subject and classification of vulnerabilities from samples of concepts and principles that will be explained with illustrations and complemented with analyzes of results on the perception of Cape Verdeans about the topic under study, as well as analyzes of documentary content respecting the theoretical framework described in the literature about the security of information systems. The main purpose of this study is the importance and contribution that the Cape Verdean citizens give to the vulnerabilities of information systems using as basis the concepts acquired by study in the literature review. It is concluded that the security of information systems is extremely important so that we can ensure the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of data. Although we rely on a solid theoretical background of information about the topic under study, highlights the need for consolidation of common standards for the development of new ways of ensuring the integrity of information without their being adulterated / vulnerable. And no doubt with the convergence of objectives will generate better practices to ensure the “no vulnerabilities” in information systems.
