Abstract

The central aim of this study is to understand the experience of co-parenting in divorce and also the understanding of the rules, routines and rituals of children in preschool and school age. This research follows a methodology of qualitative nature favoring the interview as a method of data collection. Were interviewed four fathers and mothers in divorce situation. It was concluded that mothers and fathers in divorce situation perceive how important communication with the pair about parenting is, however they don’t communicate. Existing communication between parents / mothers and their parental pair are related to management of children (e.g. go to the doctor, go to a birthday party ... etc..) And the management of time spent with the mother and the father. It was also found that participants in our study have more negative than positive representations about its parental pair. Finally, it was still possible to conclude that the participants in our study perceive on their experience of parenting numerous challenges and rewards.
