The aim of this study was to examine how joint custody influence parental involvement and coparentais styles adopted after divorce. Regardless of family structural configuration, coordinated and efficient activation of coparental subsystem after divorce becomes crucial, because of its moderating characteristics of the impact of marital dissolution in the development of children (Lamela, Figueiredo, & Bastos, 2010). So, if you do not renegotiate rules the family environment is guided by the competition authority of tax (Alarcão, 2000). In this sense, the aim of this study is to understand so that the exercise of joint parental responsibilities influences parental involvement and co-parenting after divorce. The study was conducted in the framework of a qualitative methodology and focused in the semi-structured interview as a method of collection. They attended two parents and four divorced mothers, exercising of joint parental responsibilities and with at least one child in preadolescence. Data analysis was guided by the principles of Grounded Theory, supported by NVivo software. From this analysis it highlights the following main conclusions: the exercise of parental responsibilities set appears to be a factor that influences the involvement of the father who does not reside with the child in relation to the parent with whom the child resides, so parents portray less involvement in Daily child life activities in relation to mothers . It should also be noted that communication about coparentais practices between former spouses is a factor with great influence on the involvement of every parent in the child's life. Thus a large majority of parents who showed conflict in coparental communication represent a more uncompromising character in the implementation of practices, with the exception of a mother who showed a more regulated character in representative coparental communication of a cooperative pattern. In our perspective, the contribution of such factors helps in understanding the co-parenting processes in divorced parents, with implications for the adjustment of professional practice at this level.
