Aware that the scientific community around the world is in the process of learning about the Covid pandemic19, every contribution to facilitate the clarification and management of change in services is important, since the process is recent, so there is a need for research (Viriato and Gonçalves, 2020).This dissertation aims to understand the personal experience lived by nurses during the Covid pandemic19. For this purpose, a qualitative investigation was carried out, following the phenomenological method, descriptive exploratory, and cross-sectional, with the objective of characterizing the perception that the management of change during the Covid pandemic19 had in the nurses of an Intensive Care Unit of Angola. The data collection instrument was made through document analysis and interviews with semi-structured questions. Our sample consisted of 26 nurses. Data analysis was based on content analysis using Nvivo12 software. The results show that the sample is mostly women, the average age of the participants is 36 years old, graduates, active married life and with children, with more than six years of nursing work and less than five years of experience in Intensive Care Unit. In the work context, it brought changes in the following aspects: changes in hours and work schedule, division of the work unit, increase in safety measures, continuous training, new equipment, and an increase in nursing staff. The impact on the professional career was: fear, professional oath, overwork, and new challenges.
