Abstract

Jesus Christ’s Catholic Church is said and believed to be holy, despite its members at times
being sinful, since it’s assisted by the Holy Spirit, Who sustains and upholds that same
Church in its setbacks and in its daily pilgrimage to the final communion with the Father
through Jesus Christ. Having said this, it is in this Church, which is holy, that the
communion of saints is accomplished and lived, whether with the blessed ones who are
gathered in God, or among those who are still in the pilgrim Church. In turn, this same
Church is strengthened by the sacraments, which, since they proceed from the Most Holy
God, are truly holy in themselves and cooperate in humankind’s sanctification.
