Cuidados humanizados à pessoa em situação crítica

Abstract

With the objective of specialized and holistic care, focusing on the person and family who experience a critical situation arises: "Humanized Care for the Person in Critical Situation". The report presented is a document with the purpose of demonstrating my personal and professional journey with the learning I have made during the internship, in the discovery of a specialized knowledge. The internship contexts, inserted in the scope of the Master of Medical-Surgical Nursing, in the area of the person in critical situation, were developed in the same hospital institution in the district of Porto, in the emergency and intensive care services. Scientific and technological evolution for the benefit of the person in critical situation has been developing so rapidly and effectively that it challenges clinical practice and increases the possibility of survival of the person. Humanized nursing care, seen as the essence of care, has to follow this evolution so that the person has the best possible outcome. The nurse specialized in Medical-Surgical Nursing has a specialized look to detect the needs of the person, family and team, mobilizing their competencies to improve the quality of care through specific actions in the various aspects of the concept of humanization: person, family and team. The entire learning path was exposed with the use of descriptive and reflective methodology in order to expose the experiences throughout each context. The various activities performed are described as well, as a reflection was made on learning, evidencing the skills acquired for the master's degree and specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing, namely research and research skills, infection control, quality improvement and resource management, based on the practice on evidence. The path taken was extremely important to achieve the objectives that I set myself and develop competencies to obtain the degree of Master’s in Nursing and Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing, assuming that it is a tool for the future professional.
