Abstract

The Final Internship and Report provides for the materialization of the knowledge acquired in the curricular units of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Course, in the Area of Nursing to the Person in Critical Situation. To achieve this goal, we must bring to practice the theoretical elements acquired, making the exercise of nursing a science. Our clinical practice is based on: 1) Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), always supported by the scientific basis, but never forgetting that clinical experience should also guide our steps (a practice that must be based on the needs of the people we care for, and should be adapted to the context); 2) Evidence Informed Practice (EIP) that includes a qualitative perspective from clinical experience and patients. Therefore, the objective of this final report will be to represent in an objective, scientific, reflexive, and clear way the set of activities, capacities and competencies attributable to a Nurse/Specialist acquired throughout the internships. The training course was carried out in two stages of 180 hours each. The first internship was performed in the Multipurpose Intensive Care Unit of a University Hospital Center. The second internship was performed at Rambam Hospital, specifically in the Rambam Health Care Campus in the city of Haifa in Israel, with the mediation of the University of Haifa. The internship sites were intended to acquire a set of varied knowledge and skills, but complementary from continuity point of view (as a rule a patient is stabilized in the emergency area and continues his journey in the intensive care unit). In order to acquire information relevant to my daily practice, a Scoping Review was developed: "Interventions aimed at preventing complications associated with massive transfusion in the context of critical care", which will be one of the central focuses of this report.
