Abstract

The present report has as goal describe and analyze the stages of planning, execution and appreciation of the work of the project proposed for the internship in the context of palliative geriatric cares. In the internship I had several goals. Goal 1 – integrated the multidisciplinary team of palliative care. For this goal I integrated in the team of Palliative and Psychogeriatric Care from Casa de Saúde de Idanha where I had the opportunity to perceive the dynamic of one unity of Palliative Cares and understand it organization. I was able to analyze the clinic process of the patient and collection the clinic information’s of patient and then did the mapping of the therapeutic intervention. Goal 2 - To apply knowledge at the level of Cognitive Training to take care of the patient Palliative at the level of Cognitive Training, for such, I applied techniques of cognitive stimulation to the patient. Goal 3 - Apply knowledge at the level of taking care of Palliative patient in the context of the Geriatric Rehabilitation, for such I applied techniques of geriatric physiotherapy to the patient. Goal 4 - Apply knowledge at the level of taking care of the Palliative patient in the context of the Expressive Techniques in Health for such, I applied techniques of art therapy (plastic expression and painting), dancing-therapy (light movements of motor expression accompanied by gentle music) and music therapy (use of sounds and of musicians for stimulation of the users). Goal 5 – To apply knowledge at the level of the Symptomatic Control of the Pain in the Palliative patient, for such, I applied techniques of Relaxation (massages of relief of zones of pressure and massages of pedal reflexology). Goal 6: To apply knowledge at the level of the communication and management of losses, I talk to the patient and family of ways to promote whenever necessary psychological and spiritual support. Goal 7 - To administer a Formation on “Podal Reflexology in context of Palliative Cares” and for such I administered a formation of the above-mentioned area, having professional from Casa de Saúde da Idanha as the recipient. Goal 8: To study the incidence of palliative users interned in the Casa de Saúde da Idanha during the period of traineeship relatively to the sex, age and pathology, accompanied by the Team of Palliative ones of Casa de Saúde da Idanha, during the period of traineeship
