This report provides a description of Clinical Teaching, held on the 3rd Curricular Semester in Medical-Surgical Nursing Specialization, at Instituto de Ciências Médicas da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. This report aims to describe, analyze and reflect on the activities along the teaching practice of the Master Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing, as well as to describe some of the specific skills acquired. The teaching practice was performed at the Intensive Care Unit which corresponds to the module II and at the Surgical Day Hospital which corresponds to module III (optional field). In Module II development areas were primarily related to specialized care to patients of medium and high risk, communication with the client / family and in-service training. In Module III the developed areas have focused mainly on reception of the client / family, preparing for discharge, providing specialized care to patients of medium and high risk, and in-service training. By examining the entire journey I think I evolved in a continuous manner, meeting the goals established and developing competencies expected in a specialist nurse. The report also leaves some suggestions for future projects aimed at improving quality of care, investment in self-training, in-service training and research
