Abstract

The effects of work on health have been becoming increasingly evident, which reveals the need to adopt measures to safeguard the health and welfare of workers. Focusing on the reciprocal influences of the dynamics of the work of agricultural activity, the present study, anchored in ergonomic psychology approach, sought to identify the requirements and constraints of working in this sector of activity and the effects on health and well-being of workers. In terms of methodology, the study included administration of a survey that addresses the relationship between health and work - Inquérito Saúde e Trabalho (2010), supplemented with verbalizations of participants and observations of the actual context of the work. The results obtained confirm the existence of constraints in terms of the physical environment and work organization that affect and influence the health of workers.
