De generalista a especialista

Abstract

The accomplishment of this Report appears in the scope of the discipline of the Course of Master's degree and Specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Instituto de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Porto. The same corresponds to the arrive of a learning process/progress and serves to document and to reflect my evolution and learning along the three Modules of the Training in the accomplished Area of the Medical-Surgical Nursing in the Hospital Pedro Hispano E.P.E, of 19 of April of 2010 to 28 of January of 2011, in a total of 555,5 hours of contact and close to 210 individual working hours. The scientific development, technological technician and in the sector of Health have determined significant modifications in the boarding to the critical sick person, with resource to the internment in the Units of Intensive Cares. The UCIs are characterized by the raised level of requirement scientific technique and, for the complexity of the clinical situation, demanding a capacity of work in cohesive team. The increase of the transport of acute and critical sick people between hospitals and inside of the installations of the proper hospitals is today a reality. In such a way it appeared the Proposal of a Norm of Procedures for Transport Intra and Inter Hospital in the Intensive Medical Service of the Pedro Hispano Hospital, reflected in the improvement of practices within the multidisciplinary team. The training of Option accomplished in the Regional Delegation of the North of the National Institute of Medical Emergency, was fruit of my choice for the diversity and unpredictability of the lived situations. The nurses who work daily in Daily pay-Hospital context face emotionally intense situations, decide many times under pressure in such a way, with urgency and in conditions of risk and limitation of resources, being in such a way susceptible to the Burnout. The project developed in this training aimed at to establish relations between the prevalence of Syndrome of Burnout in the nursing professionals who work in the Daily pay- Hospital Emergency. The positive effects to point out are centered in the reflection of the professionals in this problem of health, that made possible the support of mechanisms of coping, as well as the psychological accompaniment in emotionally difficult situations. The constant modifications in the attendance to the sick person who assists to the Urgency are innumerable and depend on the nature of cares that the same imply and many other inherent conditions to the human condition. The proposal of a Guide of Shelter for information the Relatives and Visitors of the sick people was object of reflection in the Service of Urgency of Hospital S. João. I still highlight, the activities developed in the scope of the prevention. I conclude that the Expert Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing will develop abilities to the level of four dominions of action: Instalment of cares, Training, Investigation and Management, constructing to its proper way and professional progress searching in such a way the excellency in Nursing
